1. Open a file in Microsoft office
2. Click create pdf in the acrobat ribon
3. Select protect pdf in the dialogbox
4. In the next dialogbox, set a password and file permission as desired to restrict people from having access to the file
5. Click OK, name the file and save it in desire location
